Ticks

The most common ticks for this area are the Dog Tick, Lone Star Tick, and Deer Tick.
Ticks are typically 3 to 5 mm long. Most ticks are reddish or mahogany in color. Ticks are external parasites, living by feeding on the blood of mammals, birds, and sometimes reptiles and amphibians. Ticks have four stages to their life cycle, namely egg, larva, nymph, and adult. Because of their habit of ingesting blood, ticks are vectors of many diseases that affect humans and other animals. Ticks can carry such conditions such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Lyme Disease, but not all ticks carry pathogens, however.

fleas

Fleas live by consuming blood from their hosts. Adult fleas grow to about 3 mm long, are usually brown, and have bodies that are "flattened" sideways or narrow. Fleas have four lifecycle stages of egg, larva, pupa, and adult.

gophers

Pocket gophers, commonly referred to as just gophers, are burrowing rodents. Average lifespans are one to three years. Most gophers have brown fur that closely matches the color of the soil in which they live. Gophers create a network of tunnels that provide protection and a means of collecting food.

moles

Moles are small mammals adapted to subterranean lifestyles. Moles are known pests to human activities such as agriculture, lawn care, and gardening. However, they do not eat plant roots. They only cause damage indirectly as they ear earthworms and other small invertebrates in the soil. A mole's primary diet consists of worms and other small insects found in the ground. The mole can detect, catch, and eat food faster than the human eye can follow.

cockroaches

The most common species of roaches native to Oklahoma are Brown Bandit Roaches, German Brown Roaches, and Oriental Roaches. Brown Bandit and German Brown cockroaches are the home-invading species and are usually found in kitchen and bathroom areas or around other heat and water sources in the home. Cockroaches can live up to a year; in favorable conditions, the female can produce 300 to 400 offspring. Cockroaches are among the hardiest of insects.

Indian meal moth

Indian Meal Moths consume grain products and are commonly brought into the home with stored products such as cereals, fruits, and similar products. They feed on an extensive range of plants, grains, and other human food products. They can infest a wide range of dry foodstuffs of vegetable origin, such as cereal, bread, pasta, rice, flour spices, dried fruits, and nuts. They are known to consume pet food and bird feed too, and often leave webbing on the food they infest.

silverfish

A silverfish is a small, wingless insect. Silverfish are silvery light gray color, have a long antenna, and have a fish-like appearance. They are nocturnal insects typically 12-25 mm long. They consume matter that contains polysaccharides such as starches and adhesives. They eat bookbindings, carpets, clothing, coffee, dandruff, glue, hair, some paints, paper, photos, plaster, and sugar. They also eat cotton, dead insects, linen, and silk. Silverfish are considered household pests due to their consumption and destruction of property.
