How Do Bed Bugs Damage your Physical Well Being?
Bed bugs are a type of insect that feeds on human blood, usually at night. The bed bug has been a known human parasite for thousands of years. Individual responses to bites vary, ranging from no visible effect to small macular spots to prominent welts with intense itching that may last several days. Symptoms may not appear until some days after the bites have occurred. Bed bugs can exist singly but tend to congregate once established. A lack of hygiene rarely causes infestation. Transfer to new places is usually in the personal items if the human they feed upon.
Dwellings can become infested with bed bugs in a variety of ways, such as:
Travelling from infested homes
Bugs and eggs inadvertently brought in from other infested homes on a visiting person's clothing or luggage.
riding on infested items
Infested items (Furniture, especially beds or couches, clothing, or backpacks) brought in a home or business.
travelling a short distance
The proximity of infested dwellings or items, if easy routes are available for travel, e.g., through ducts or false ceilings.
visiting infested areas
People visiting an infested area (e.g., dwelling, means of transport, entertainment venue, or lodging) and carrying the bugs to another area on their clothing, luggage, or bodies. Bed bugs are increasingly found in air travel.
